TafsirKurd Center

TafsirKurd Center is a non-political, non-partisan Islamic platform for Kurdish Muslims, founded in Duhok. What began as one Quran page in 2024 is now a team serving the deen in three ways: the TafsirKurd app, with more than 10,000 downloads; videos about the deen with scholars on TafsirKurd Clips; and the Quran shared every day — with eighteen design campaigns around them.

Overview

TafsirKurd Center serves the Book of Allah and the deen for Kurdish Muslims everywhere. It is non-political and non-partisan, and it is done for the sake of Allah.

It began with a single Quran page in March 2024. Today it is a team with three parts working under one name: apps for the deen, starting with the TafsirKurd app; videos about the deen with scholars, on TafsirKurd Clips; and the Quran itself, shared every day on TafsirKurd.

One name, four colours

Every part of the Center carries the same TafsirKurd mark in its own colour: black and white for the Center, blue for the daily Quran, green for the app and maroon for Clips.

TafsirKurd Center, since 2024: the TafsirKurd mark above “Serving the deen in three ways” and three cards — TafsirKurd App (@tafsirkurd.app) in green, TafsirKurd Clips (@tafsirkurd.clips) in maroon and TafsirKurd (@tafsirkurd) in blue

Chapter 01: The TafsirKurd app

The Center's first app brings the whole Quran to Kurdish readers — a Kurdish interpretation for every ayah, with prayer times and adhan, dhikr, tasbih, an Islamic library and video — on iOS, Android and the web.

It works fully offline, and more than 10,000 people have downloaded it.

Chapter 02: TafsirKurd Clips

Talks about the deen by scholars and teachers, speaking in Kurdish. Each one takes a single subject and gives it a few minutes, filmed in a studio set and produced by the Center for @tafsirkurd.clips. Tap a video for sound.

  • Mala Husen Kawashi — following the Sunnah
  • Dr. Mohammed Amin — the Fajr prayer

Chapter 03: TafsirKurd, the Quran daily

@tafsirkurd shares the Quran and nothing else: verses recited over calm visuals, with the Arabic text and its Kurdish meaning on screen.

  • Surah Al-Qadr
  • Surah Al-Anfal
  • Surah An-Najm

Chapter 04: Design and campaigns

Every launch and feature of the app gets its own campaign — a carousel that explains it and an animated story — alongside the daily series and seasonal work such as Ramadan. Green and cream alternate, so the feed reads as one brand.

Nine designs from eighteen campaigns, in Kurdish (Badini).
