Overview
TafsirKurd brings the whole Quran to Kurdish readers, with a Kurdish interpretation for every ayah, together with the tools of daily practice: prayer times and adhan, dhikr, tasbih, books and Islamic video. It is designed to work fully offline, and is a non-political, non-partisan platform founded in Duhok, Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

What it does
Quran with Kurdish tafsir — all 114 surahs and 6,236 ayahs, with a Kurdish interpretation for every ayah.
A real Mushaf — the 604-page Medina Mushaf with QPC glyph fonts, in one continuous scroll.
Reading goals — a pointer that only advances when you actually read, synced across devices.
Prayer times and adhan — 20 Kurdish cities bundled offline, native adhan alarms, home- and lock-screen widgets, and Qibla.
Tasbih — a physics-driven bead chain with voice counting.
Gencine — dhikr, dua, hadith and an Islamic book library with offline downloads.
IslamVoice — a Kurdish Islamic video series, synced from YouTube playlists.
Offline first
Cold-start the app in airplane mode and everything core still works: the Quran text and tafsir, the full Mushaf, prayer times for all 20 cities, goals, tasbih and dhikr, and downloaded books. Audio and video show a clear retry state instead of breaking, and the app syncs in the background once it is online again.
How it's built
TafsirKurd is a single Capacitor 8 codebase for iOS, Android and the web, written in plain JavaScript, HTML and CSS with no framework and no bundler. Cloudflare Pages, Pages Functions and Workers serve the site and its APIs at the edge, and Supabase provides Postgres with Row-Level Security, Auth and Storage. Push notifications are delivered through FCM and APNs, and iOS builds run on Codemagic.
A custom admin console manages content, translations, users and notifications: scheduled and recurring pushes, categories that users can mute, and open-rate analytics.
Brand and social media
Launch posts, carousels and stories for TafsirKurd's social channels, in the app's emerald and cream palettes.
